Yamazakura Sasakawa is an unpeated Japanese single malt from the Asaka distillery in Fukushima. Asaka belongs to the Sasanokawa Shuzo Company, whose history goes back to 1765 and which began making whisky in the 1940s.
The whisky matured for three years in first-fill bourbon casks. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with a lingering citrus note. The palate is described as deep and layered.
