Yellow Rose Outlaw is a Texas bourbon from Yellow Rose Distilling in Houston, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. The mash is 100% Texas yellow corn, with no rye or wheat, and the spirit is double pot-distilled.
It is aged in small American oak barrels with a heavy char. Houston's wide daily temperature swings speed up the extraction from the wood, which gives the whiskey plenty of character at a young age.
The nose is typically described as candy corn, toffee and caramel. The palate is buttery, with caramel, brown sugar and black pepper framed by charred oak, and the medium-long, warming finish brings vanilla and cinnamon.
