Yellow Rose Rye is a straight rye whiskey made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley, bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The whiskey was sourced from MGP in Indiana, then selected, blended and bottled in Houston by Yellow Rose Distilling, the city's first legal whiskey distillery, founded in 2010. It contains no added colouring or flavouring.
The producer describes a nose of mild vanilla and pine with a hint of brown sugar. The palate is slightly sweet, with spearmint, mild pepper and maple, followed by a medium finish with less pepper than other ryes.
