Yellow Spot 12 Years is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton distillery, triple distilled and made entirely from pot stills. It matured in three kinds of cask: American oak, Spanish sherry butts and Spanish Malaga casks. It is non-chill-filtered and was first released on 23 May 2012.
The nose is freshly cut hay, red pepper and fresh nutmeg, with a little clove oil, green tea, honey and peach. The palate brings sweet honey with pot still spices, freshly ground coffee, creamy milk chocolate, crème brûlée, red apples and oak. The finish is elegant and complex, with red grapes and barley.
