Yoichi

This is a single expression from the Yoichi distillery on Hokkaido, in Japan. It shows the maritime, peaty character the distillery is known for. The nose is black, earthy peat and smouldering fires, with briny seashells, lime, lemon twist, sugared orange, ground ginger and liquorice. The palate is silky, with a light fruity sweetness that moves into kiwi and lime juice, while smoky peat runs through the fruit. Menthol, peat and leather last into the finish.
