Zuidam – Smuggler's Trail Dutch Single Blended Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Smuggler's Trail is a Dutch single blended whisky from Zuidam, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It combines three whiskies from the same distillery: a single malt, a wheat whisky made from wheat and malted barley, and a five-grain whisky made from rye, corn, wheat, spelt and malted barley. All three are distilled in Zuidam's pot stills. The colour comes only from cask maturation, with no added colouring. The whisky is chill-filtered. The nose brings grain, pickled vegetables and apple sauce, with a hint of soy sauce. On the palate are liquorice, ripe cherry and cinnamon. The short to medium finish recalls cola, hazelnuts and soft toffee.
