Zuidam Smugglers Trail PX Cask Dutch Single Blended Whisky (70cl, 43%)

This is a Dutch blended whisky from Zuidam Distillers, a special edition matured entirely in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The cask gives it a natural amber colour and additional notes of chocolate and raisin. It is bottled at 43% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Zuidam was founded in 1975 and is run by Patrick van Zuidam, the second generation of the family. The nose is intense, with ripe raisins and dark chocolate and a hint of oak. The palate is full and soft, with balanced sweetness recalling dried fruit and caramel. The finish is long and warm, with lingering raisin and a little spice.
