A.D. Laws San Luis Valley Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey made from 100% heirloom rye grown at 7,400 feet in Colorado's San Luis Valley. The Cody family has cultivated the low-yield, semi-wild grain there since the 1930s.
It is aged for four years or more in new 53-gallon charred oak barrels.
The nose is floral and perfumed, with baking spice and orange oil. On the palate come black tea, sweet mint, salted toffee, orange peel and stewed fig, and the finish carries green peppercorn spice.
