A.D. Rattray Cask Islay

Cask Islay is a single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, bottled by the independent bottler A.D. Rattray. It belongs to the Casks of Scotland range, which looks at the character of Scotland's whisky regions. The whisky is matured in bourbon casks and released in small batches. Each batch is made from up to 20 casks from a single distillery, keeping a consistent style while allowing subtle natural variation. The nose is smoky, with grilled scallops, lemon and the charred notes of beach bonfire embers. The palate brings butter tablet and roasted peanuts with sweet and salty peat. The finish lingers with light ash and pipe tobacco.
