Cask Orkney 15 Year Old is a single malt from independent bottler A.D. Rattray, founded in 1868. It belongs to the Casks of Scotland range of small batches and comes from a single Orkney distillery that is not officially named. The whisky matured for 15 years in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings clover honey, violets, ripe peaches and a delicate heather smoke, with vanilla and sweet malt. The palate is creamy, with roasted plums, barley sugar, soft spice and a light herbal note over gentle peat. The finish is long, with spiced smoke, fresh citrus and pine.
