A Secret Islay Distillery 2013 is an Islay single malt bottled by The Whisky Agency and Whisky Watchers at cask strength, 54.5%, in a 70cl bottle. The label reads Bow the Queen, which hints at Bowmore, though the distillery is not named.
It was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2022 after eight years in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead.
The nose is of peat smoke, red berries, smoked bacon, wild honey and wood. The palate is oily, with sweet fruit, smoke, oriental spices, caramel and wood. The finish is medium in length, rich and warm, with red fruit.
