Aberlour 17 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch, released in 2023 as Crafted Small Batch No. 1.2. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.8% ABV and is not chill-filtered.
The whisky is drawn 57.4% from European oak casks linked to sherry and 42.6% from American oak casks linked to bourbon, a split that tips it slightly towards the richer sherry side.
The nose offers caramelised apple, citrus, orange peel, dried fruit and pastry. On the palate come cinnamon, milk chocolate, raisins, dates and citrus marmalade, with hints of banana and caramel. The finish brings toasted wood and spice.
