This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was aged in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, then finished in two kinds of sherry cask, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez.
It was introduced in 2008 and has won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
The nose brings ripe plums and raisins with dark chocolate and warm spice. The palate is smooth and velvety, with dried fruit, honey and a touch of vanilla. The finish is long, leaving nuts and spice.
