This is Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba Batch 5, a cask strength single malt bottled at 62.7% ABV. The name refers to Quercus Alba, the variety of American white oak used to make the ex-bourbon barrels in which the whisky matured. It is typically described as having fresh green apples, sweet pears and vanilla cream on the nose. The palate brings lemon zest, tangy grapefruit and all-butter shortbread, and the sweet, smooth finish carries hints of toasted almonds.
