Adelphi Breath of the Isles 13 Year Old 2007

This is a 13 year old single malt from Adelphi, part of its Breath of the Isles series. The whisky was distilled in 2007 on a Scottish island and bottled at cask strength in 2020, in an outturn of 656 bottles. The nose is freshly baked pain au raisin with a cup of good coffee nearby, and a hint of vegetal sweetness comes through later. On the palate there is stone-fruit jelly and rose petals, followed by sea salt, earthy peat and cedar. The finish brings chocolate digestive biscuits and lingering aromatic smoke.
