Adelphi Distillery Invergordon 1972 (70cl, 51.1%)

This is a single grain whisky from Invergordon, bottled by Adelphi at 51.1% in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a refill ex-Bourbon barrel and has a deep gold colour. The nose brings vanilla ice cream, ripe pears and coconut, then sweet candy, sherbet and caramel-covered baked apples. On the palate are oiled lemon boiled sweets, fresh pears and sanded oak, with clotted cream and salted caramel arriving as it develops.
