This is a High Coast single malt from Sweden, bottled by Adelphi at 9 years old. It was distilled in 2014, matured in a first fill Oloroso hogshead and bottled at 58.1% ABV in a run of 321 bottles.
The sherry cask sets the character. The nose offers maple syrup on pancakes, cedar, fig syrup and manuka honey, with dark chocolate fudge and creamy caramel behind.
The palate is rich and enveloping, with fig syrup, plump dates, honeyed chocolate, pecan pie and chocolate ganache. The finish is long, silky and warming, with the feel of a festive dessert.
