Akashi Blended Sherry Cask is a Japanese blend of malt and grain whiskies from the Akashi White Oak Distillery, in a 50cl bottle and supplied in a box. It spent three years in casks that previously held sherry, and the colour is deep gold with amber highlights.
The nose offers dried fruit, raisins and dates with honey, caramel, ginger and cinnamon. The palate is soft, with cooked fruit, sweet spice and dark chocolate, and a little oak. The finish is long and warm.
