Akashi Single Malt 5 Year Old Red Wine Cask is a Japanese single malt from Akashi White Oak Distillery, in a 50cl bottle. It spent four years in casks that previously held red wine.
The colour is amber with reddish tints. Red fruit, vanilla and chocolate on the nose are joined by light spice. On the palate come blackberry, cherry and plum alongside sweet malt and a faint touch of peat. The finish is long, with dried fruit and a light tannic note.
