Albarossa Piemonte DOC - Bricco dei Guazzi

A red wine from Piedmont made by Bricco dei Guazzi, from grapes grown in the Olivola vineyards on mainly marly and calcareous soils at about 130 metres above sea level. It is a cross between Nebbiolo and Barbera. After manual harvest, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, then age for six months in barrique, twelve months in large cask and four months in glass. In the glass it is an intense, deep ruby red. The nose brings forest fruits, cocoa, blond tobacco, coffee and leather. On the palate it is savoury, complex and full, with an elegant, well-integrated tannic structure. It pairs with red and white meat, cheese and typical Piedmontese dishes.
