Barbera d'Asti DOCG from Bricco dei Guazzi is a red wine made from Barbera grapes grown in the Asti hills of Piedmont. It is fermented traditionally with maceration of about 8-10 days, then matured in French oak barriques. The result balances acidity with soft tannins. On the nose it shows ripe cherry, plum and hints of spice and vanilla. On the palate it is robust yet elegant, with a lingering aromatic finish. Serve at 16-18°C with red meat, game and aged cheese.
