Amador Double Barrel is a low rye bourbon bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle, released by Amador Whiskey Company.
It spends three years in new charred American oak, which gives flavours of vanilla, black cherry and caramel. It is then finished for 9 to 12 months in former medium toast French oak Cabernet barrels, which add further vanilla notes and a smooth mouthfeel. The character of each barrel is blended together in the final bourbon.
