Amador Double Barrel is a Kentucky bourbon finished in Napa Valley Chardonnay casks, bottled at 43.4% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The bourbon was distilled at the Willett Family Distillery from a mashbill of 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% malted barley. Nearly 300 barrels of three-year-old bourbon were sent to California for a second maturation of six to twelve months in medium-toast French oak that had held Napa Cellars Chardonnay. The nose is caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and brown sugar, with green apple, pear and a faint floral note. The palate is smooth, with buttery biscuit, cinnamon, a light wine sweetness and kettle corn. The finish is medium, with cocoa, roasted nuts and a honeyed softness.
