Amrut Bagheera is an Indian single malt developed with La Maison du Whisky and bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The base is 99% unpeated and 1% peated malted barley, which gives a deliberately small touch of smoke. The whisky then has a sherry cask finish. The name is Hindi for black panther, and since summer 2024 it has been part of Amrut's permanent range.
The nose offers dried fruit, walnut, almond and caramel, then vanilla, toffee, peat and a fine trace of smoke. The palate brings orange, apricot, peach and chestnut, with a silky texture and toffee mid-palate. The finish is very long and vanilla-led, with the smoke building.
