This is Amrut Double Cask, an Indian whisky made from unpeated malt and bottled in August 2016 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It vats two casks: an ex-bourbon barrel from June 2009 and a PX sherry barrel from May 2010. The colour is light amber.
The nose is rich and honeyed, with vanilla pods, creamy cake, buttercups, pineapple candy, pink grapefruit, banana and caramelised apples. The palate is a fruit salad of papaya, kiwi, mango and pineapple with lime, vanilla and powdered sugar. The finish is long and fruity, with delicate oak, cinnamon and light pepper.
