Amrut – Double Cask (46%)

Amrut Double Cask is an Indian single malt bottled at 46%. It is made from peated Scottish malted barley and matured in the tropical climate of southern India. The name refers to its two components: whisky aged in an ex-bourbon cask, number 3189, and whisky aged in an ex-port cask, number 2715, which are then married together. The nose shows oak, buttercup, honey and vanilla, with banana, grapefruit and caramelised apple. The palate is a fruit salad of papaya, kiwi, mango and pineapple with a touch of lemon, fading into spice and vanilla. The finish is long and fruity, with oak, cinnamon and pepper.
