Amrut – Kadhambam (50%)

Amrut Kadhambam is an Indian single malt bottled at 50%. Kadhambam means blend or mixture in Tamil, a nod to the way it is matured. The whisky spent time first in oloroso sherry casks, was then moved into brandy casks, and was finally matured in rum casks. The brandy and rum that had previously filled those casks were also made by Amrut. The result is a reddish amber colour. The nose is rich and floral, with honey, hazelnut, new oak, vanilla, citrus and tropical fruit. The palate brings woody notes with candied fruit and spice, leading to a long, dry, warming finish.
