A barrel-aged ancho chile liqueur from Ancho Reyes in Puebla, Mexico. It is aged in used bourbon barrels for approximately two years.
The liqueur combines ancho chile heat with baking spice, caramel, dark fruit, vanilla and toasted oak. It has a medium to deep gold colour with amber or copper highlights and a smooth, velvety mouthfeel.
Aromas include smoked ancho chile, warm oak, vanilla, baking spice, dried fruit and mild caramel. The palate moves from sweet vanilla and caramel into ancho heat, smoke, spice, dried fruit, chocolate-orange and honey, with a medium-long finish of chile heat, wood, spice, cocoa and vanilla.
