Bruto Americano is a red bittersweet aperitivo from St. George Spirits in Alameda, California. It blends bright citrus, woodsy botanicals and gentian bitterness, with Seville orange, balsam fir, cascara sagrada bark and natural cochineal colouring. It is intended for Negronis, spritzes, soda serves and similar cocktails. On the nose there is vibrant Seville orange with cinnamon, sandalwood and piney forest notes. The palate begins with pronounced gentian bitterness, moving into herbal orange peel, wood and warm spice. The finish is bitter and citrus-led, with dry herbal and woodsy edges.
