anCnoc 24 Year Old

anCnoc 24 Year Old is a single malt from The Knockdhu Distillery, and the oldest bottling the distillery produces. It matured for 24 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and is bottled without chill-filtration in small quantities. It won a silver medal at the IWSC in 2015. The distillery takes its water from the small streams of Knock Hill, which gave it its name. The long maturation has given the whisky a rich colour. The nose is fruity, with apples and citrus. The palate has creamy vanilla, caramel toffee, malty notes and candied exotic fruit, with a little lemon and peppery spice. Oak and honey carry through to a long finish. The sweet spice recalls Christmas cake.
