This is the tenth annual Cask Strength release from Angel's Envy, bottled in 2021. Kentucky straight bourbon, with a base age of four to six years, is finished in 60 gallon ruby Port wine barrels from Portugal and bottled undiluted at 120.7 proof (60.35% ABV), in a 750ml bottle.
The mash bill is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley. The release totals 14,760 bottles.
It pours a deep, dark amber red. The nose offers peach, apricot, plum and Bing cherry with baking spices, brown sugar, leather, oak and vanilla. The palate brings ripe cherry, salted chocolate, stone fruit, orange peel and toasted oak with Port sweetness. The finish is long and tannic, with citrus fruit lingering.
