Angel's Envy – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Port Finish (75cl, 43.3%)

Angel's Envy Port Finish is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Louisville distillery created by Lincoln Henderson and his son Wes Henderson. It is distilled from a mashbill of 72 per cent corn, 18 per cent rye and 10 per cent malted barley. The bourbon is aged for four to six years in new charred American oak, then finished for a further three to six months in ruby Port barrels from the Douro region of Portugal. It is bottled at 86.6 proof (43.3%). The nose is vanilla, maple syrup, ripe raisin and toasted nuts. The palate brings dried cherry, plum, dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and bitter chocolate with a hint of Port sweetness, and the finish is clean and gently warming, with lingering fruit and oak.
