Angel's Envy – Cellar Collection Volume 005 Straight Rye Whiskey Tequila Barrel Finish (75cl, 52.1%)

Angel's Envy Cellar Collection Volume 005 is a limited edition straight rye, the first Cellar Collection overseen throughout by Master Distiller Owen Martin. The rye, from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, spent around six and a half to seven years in new charred American oak. It was then finished for up to 12 months in French oak barrels that previously held Patron Extra Anejo tequila, and blended with an eleven year old unfinished straight rye. It is bottled at 104.2 proof (52.1%). The nose is floral and fruit forward, with toasty vanilla and a subtle clove smokiness. The palate has baking spices and cracked pepper, with herbal agave syrup, earthy tobacco and brown sugar. The finish is soft, with orange blossom honey, tropical fruits and lingering French oak.
