Angel's Envy Finished Rye is a rye whiskey from Louisville, Kentucky, bottled at 50% (100 proof). The brand was created by Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson and is now owned by Bacardi.
The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. After ageing in new charred American oak, the whiskey spends up to 18 further months finishing in Caribbean rum casks that previously held dark rum.
The nose is sweet, with maple syrup, vanilla, caramel, toasted hazelnut and citrus peel. On the palate come dark rum, maple sugar and ripe tropical fruit over toasted oak and black pepper. The finish is warm and long, with maple, rum and a touch of dry spice.
