The first batch of Australian single malt from Archie Rose, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Its mash combines six different malts, including a peated malt from Caithness, rather than the usual one or two.
Maturation was mainly in 100, 200 and 300-litre Australian apera (sherry) casks, with a selection of ex-bourbon casks and Archie Rose's own ex-rye casks, air-dried for 36 months.
The nose brings fresh herbs, shortbread, raisins, toffee and dark chocolate. The palate is rich, with sticky date pudding, amaretto and espresso.
