Ardbeg – 10 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg 10 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and non-chill-filtered. The nose is smoky and peaty, with lemon, lime and waxy dark chocolate. On the palate, peat comes with tangy citrus, black pepper and cinnamon-spiced toffee, followed by brine, buttermilk, ripe banana and currants. Later come cappuccino, toasted marshmallow, espresso, liquorice and tarry smoke. The finish is long and smoky, with tarry espresso, aniseed and toasted almonds, and traces of barley and pear.
