Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a peated Islay single malt, matured for ten years and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered, which is said to leave more body and flavour.
Ardbeg Ten is widely regarded as one of the purest expressions of Islay smoke, and this is a full, oily and powerful whisky.
The nose brings salty sea air, smoky wood, tar, citrus peel and a little vanilla. On the palate, a burst of peat smoke leads into lime, black pepper, coffee grounds and roasted malt. The finish is long, dry, smoky and slightly medicinal.
