Ardbeg 10 Year Old, known as 'Ten', is a single malt from the Kildalton Coast of Islay. This bottling dates from around 2005 and is presented at 46%.
The whisky matures for a decade and is bottled without chill-filtration. Its colour is pale, like white wine.
The nose combines apple compote and a yoghurty note with big peat smoke. The palate is clean, thick, rich and complex, with peat, lemon, pepper, a slight saltiness and smoked salmon with a squeeze of lemon. The finish is long and peppery.
