Ardbeg – 17 Years Old Committee Release 2024 (70cl, 40%)

Ardbeg 17 Years Old Committee Release 2024 is an Islay single malt that revives a bottling first made after the Glenmorangie Company saved the distillery from closure in 1997. The 17 Years Old was discontinued in 2004. About a quarter of a century later, Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden rebuilt the recipe, recreating the flavour of the original. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle and, like the original, is chill-filtered. Smoke and peat are noticeably more restrained than in many other Ardbeg bottlings.
