Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan - Batch 2 (46.2%)

Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan Batch 2 is the second release in the distillery's annual series, named after Traigh Bhan, the "Singing Sands" beach on Islay. It is a limited release, bottled at 46.2% ABV. The whisky spent 19 years maturing in a combination of American oak bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks. It is peated, and this batch builds subtly on the original release. The nose offers sweet wood smoke, crème fraîche, roasted tea leaves and fennel, then sea spray, leather, eucalyptus and pine. The palate brings salinity, aniseed, fudge, birch tar and peat smoke, and the finish is long, savoury and smoky.
