This is an Ardbeg distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2008 at 14 years old by Murray McDavid, as part of its Mission Gold series. Jim McEwan selected the cask, and the bottling took place at Bruichladdich.
The whisky was matured in sherry casks and then enhanced in Amarone casks. It is bottled at cask strength, 53.7% ABV, without colouring or chill filtration, in a limited release of 816 bottles.
