This is a 15 year old Ardbeg single malt from the Islay distillery, bottled by the Glasgow independent North Star Spirits at a cask strength of 61% in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled on 29 October 2008 and matured in a single butt until it was bottled in October 2023.
The nose opens with bacon crisps and dark oak, followed by orange and lime, leather, sea spray and toffee. The palate has a creamy almond texture with black pepper, chilli, wood smoke, dark rum, herbal bitterness and fresh lime. The finish is long and spicy, with lingering bonfire smoke, a little smoked ham and soft tannins.
