Ardbeg 25 Year Old - 2022

This is the 2022 release of Ardbeg 25 Year Old, the oldest expression in the distillery's core range. The Islay single malt was distilled in the 1990s, matured only in ex-bourbon casks and bottled in 2021, then released in batches. The nose is smoky and layered, with cream, peppermint, toffee, fennel, pine resin, bonfire smoke and ripe banana. On the palate come white pepper, sherbet lemon, candied apple, orange and pear, alongside tar, aniseed, creamy toffee and medicinal smoke.
