Ardbeg 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 46% ABV, and it is non-chill-filtered. It is the oldest whisky to have joined the Ardbeg core range, matured for 25 years in bourbon casks.
The nose opens with smoky cream, peppermint and toffee, alongside fennel and pine resin, then banana, tropical fruit, herbs, wax and distant bonfires. On the palate, hot pepper and citrus sweetness recall lemon sherbet and candied apples, with caramel, tar, aniseed and chilli, finishing in a creamy texture.
The finish is long and soft, with cream, fudge and a faint antiseptic smoke.
