Ardbeg 8 For Discussion is an eight-year-old Islay single malt, bottled at 50.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was created for members of the Ardbeg Committee as an experiment in how younger spirit behaves at high strength with heavy peat. It was matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and richer casks, and is non-chill filtered. The nose brings raw peat smoke, ashy embers, tar, black pepper, lemon zest and salty air. On the palate there is charred driftwood, smoked malt, citrus, white pepper, green apple, herbs and toasted grain. The finish is long and smoky, with ash, coastal salt, citrus pith and a peppery glow.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
