Ardbeg 8 Years Old for Discussion is a limited edition single malt made for the Islay Festival each year. It is bottled at 50.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and shows Ardbeg's distinctive peaty character. The nose is full of charcoal, tar and treacle, with fine hints of aniseed and green pepper. With time, milk chocolate, star anise and wood smoke come forward. The palate is spicy, followed by treacle, star anise, salted caramel and mint, with a savoury side of charcoal and smoked bacon. The finish is long, with mint and clove.
