Ardbeg An Oa is a peated Islay single malt named after the Mull of Oa, the peninsula that shelters the distillery from Atlantic storms. It is matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, ex-bourbon barrels and virgin oak, then married in Ardbeg's Gathering Vat. Bottled at 46.6% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered.
The nose has candied orange peel, cigar smoke and char, with mulled lemon, clotted cream and figgy pudding. The palate opens with fruit and sweetness before smoky peat arrives, alongside apricot, lemon and subtle spice. The finish is long and warming, with smoke, oak and a touch of sweetness.
