Ardbeg – An Oa (70cl)

This is an Islay single malt from Ardbeg, in a 70cl bottle. It is named after the Mull of Oa, in the south west of the island, which shelters the Kildalton coast where the distillery stands. It was meant to show a more rounded, approachable side of Ardbeg while keeping the distillery style. It arrived in the summer of 2017 as the first addition to the core range in over a decade. Pedro Ximenez, charred virgin oak and ex-bourbon casks were brought together in Dr Bill Lumsden's Gathering Vat to marry.
