Ardbeg – An Oa

Ardbeg An Oa is the first new addition to the Ardbeg core range, with further releases to follow. It is a mix of the classic Ardbeg Ten, Ardbeg from PX sherry casks and Ardbeg from new white oak, married for a time in Ardbeg's Gathering Vat. The maturation was roughly 70% in bourbon casks, 15% in PX sherry casks and 15% in newly toasted American white oak. The nose is smoky and rounded, like burning apple wood with creamy toffee, aniseed, caramel and dates, then juicy peach and banana. The palate is soft and creamy with a syrupy sweetness, milk chocolate, orange and smoked tea leaves. The finish is long, with spicy, nutty oak.
