Ardbeg – Anamorphic Committee Release (70cl, 48.2%)

Ardbeg Anamorphic is a Committee Release single malt from Islay, bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. The edition is defined by an unusual cask treatment. The heads of the casks were removed and deeply scored, which gave a much larger area of wood. That surface was then charred more heavily in a so-called High Mocha burn, changing how the whisky and the wood interact. On the palate it moves between sweetness, smoke, herbs and a spicy sharpness.
